Javier Medina AMENDMENT No. 1 – RESPONSE TO VENDOR QUESTIONS AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION SOLICITATION No. 36C24819Q0752 Cooling Towers Maintenance and Repairs
Q. Cooling Tower #2, Brand: Tower Tech, Model: TTXL-081975, Location: Main Chiller Plant. We observe that the Cooling Tower is overflow and many air fans are Off. Does the VA will repair before the acquisition of the maintenance or the repairmen will be part of the proposal?
R. The repairs will be part of the proposal.
Q. The Baltimore Cooling Tower, Brand: Baltimore Air Coil Company, Model: 3676C, Location:
South Bed Tower. We observe that the Cooling Tower have a hard sound in the fans. Does the VA will repair before the acquisition of the maintenance or the repairmen will be part of the proposal?
R. The repairs will be part of the proposal.
Q. The work compensation will be a Private insurance or by the Common Wealth of Puerto Rico?
R. It is the contractor responsibility to have a worker’s compensation insurance program as established by law. In the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the authorized provider of workers compensation insurance is “Corporación del Fondo del Seguro del Estado (CFSE)”, and that will suffice the requirement.
Q. Is it obligatory to attend the site visit in order to submit a quote?
R. No, it is at the contractor’s discretion to attend the site visit. All quotes submitted as per requirements outlined in solicitation will be evaluated.
Q. Is there is an incumbent contractor currently performing these services, if similar services have been performed in the past, or if this is a new requirement. If there is an incumbent, could you please provide the contract or task order number?
R. No, there is no current contractor performing the services. However, this service has been procured and awarded in the past under contract number VA248-15-C-0190 as published on FPDS. Additional information can be requested under Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) in accordance with 38 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)1.553(b). The VA accepts FOIA requests submitted by email. The email must be sent to FOIAMailboxatVACHS2@va.gov, and not to an individual employee’s mailbox. For additional information about FOIA regulations and procedures please visits www.foia.va.gov.
