This is a Special Notice for a Request for Quote (RFQ) issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center. The solicitation (36C24726Q0083) is for the supply and installation of one new Ames 8-inch backflow preventer, specifically addressing a potential model substitution from the 2000 SE to the 2000 SS model. The RFQ response is due on 10-31-2025 at 13:00 Central Time, with a NAICS code of 332911 and Product Service Code N048. The contracting officer is Terri Hudson, who can be contacted at terri.hudson@va.gov, and the solicitation will be archived 3 days after the response date. Question:

The PWS states "•Supply and install one (1) new Ames 8-inch backflow: Model 2000 SE"

The SE model is obsolete and has been replaced by the SS model. I have attached the specsheet for that model to this email.

Will VA accept a 2000SS in place of a 2000SE?

Answer:

Yes the SS is fine
