REQUEST FOR QUOTE QUESTIONS
RFI-001: Fuel Filter Replacement Does the VA require fuel filters to be changed as part of the annual preventative maintenance scope of work?
Per the SOW, all filters are to be changed.
RFI-002: Fluid Sampling and Analysis Should the contractor pull oil, coolant, and fuel samples and send them to a third-party lab for analysis as part of the major service?
No, not in the SOW.
RFI-003: Battery Replacement Cycle Does the VA require battery replacement every two (2) years as part of the generator PM plan?
No, not in the SOW.
RFI-004: Generator Housing Cover Removal Reference: Page 13 of the solicitation, under Section 9 – GENERATOR "VA Medical Center requires the service representative to remove the generators housing covers in lieu of an adequate number of inspection covers that can be removed for visual inspection."
Question: Please confirm whether contractors are required to remove full generator housing covers for visual inspections. This is not typical industry practice and may incur additional costs. Can this requirement be waived or clarified?
Contractors should not remove any covers on the generators we have at the facility. All the generators onsite are accessible without removal.
