About this file

This document is a Combined Synopsis/Solicitation Notice for dental equipment procurement by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Columbia Healthcare System. The VA intends to make a sole source award to Henry Schein for two specific medical imaging devices: 2 NOMAD Pro 2 Handheld X-ray Systems (Part Number 844-0019) for portable and forensic dentistry, and 1 Planmeca ProMax 3D series cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) unit (Part Number 445-1881) for dental and maxillofacial imaging. The solicitation (Number 36C24725Q0851) has a response deadline of July 28, 2025 at 10:00 AM EST, with an estimated award date of August 6, 2025.

The procurement uses NAICS code 339113 with a small business size standard of 800 employees. While the notice is a sole source intent, interested contractors may submit capability statements or proposals that could potentially compete with the planned direct award. All responses must be submitted via email to Joseph Locke (joseph.locke@va.gov), and prospective contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible. The notice emphasizes that the government retains sole discretion in determining whether to proceed with the sole source procurement or consider alternative vendors based on submitted responses.
