EER#: 273327

(A) Functions to be performed/Description of need: 3D Printer to be used to print sockets for artificial limbs along with braces for veterans with mobility limitations at an expedited rate while freeing up clinical staff to see more patients and accommodate the increased workload in SBY. A 3D printer that can print both diagnostic sockets and definitive sockets for all levels of artificial limbs is needed. In addition, one that can print both back braces and lower extremity braces (AFO’s) to bring more brace fabrication in-house. These capabilities will allow our clinical department to provide same day care (evaluate, measure, test fit and deliver) to our veterans optimizing outcomes and significantly reducing wait times. This will be very beneficial for treating our veterans that travel 2+ hours away for their care and align with the timeliness initiatives set by VACO and our OPPCS national program office.

b. Maximum Machine Dimensions (in): Length 60 x Depth 34 x Height 75 in. The 3D printer cannot be larger than these dimensions due to space limitations in the allotted room on campus.
