Scope of Work Central VA Medical System, Richmond Virginia Project 652-25-102 – Power and Data for Wall Cabinets
Overview: Contractor shall provide all equipment, labor, materials, and supervision as necessary to provide additional conduit, electrical and data outlets for wall mounted cabinets.
Description of Work:
· Furnish and Install: One additional 120V Duplex Emergency receptacle with cover plate and one additional Tele/Data outlet with cover plate in each patient room across from patient head walls.
· Total number of patient rooms: thirteen (13)
· Rooms 4C-103, 4C-105, 4C-107, 4C-109, 4C-111, 4C-113, 4C-115, 4C-123, 4C-125, 4C-127, 4C- 129, 4C-131, 4C-137
· NOTE: Rooms 4C-107 and 4C-127 have hard ceilings.
· Provide conduit and electrical wiring and CAT 6 data cables for each outlet.
· Install VA furnished wall mounted cabinet.
Areas of Work: 4th Floor 4C BLDG 500
Time of Work: Work is expected to be performed during normal working hours (7:00am to 3:30pm) or as required upon VA approval. Hospital quite hours are 12 midnight to 6:00am and 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Please note that patient rooms will be in use during the duration of the project. The contractor and COR shall coordinate with nursing staff to establish a schedule to turnover individual rooms for work.
General Requirements Items:
Furnish and install material as noted.
1. Install VA furnished wall mounted computer cabinet. The cabinet will be installed in the footwall. The contractor shall coordinate with VA for the cabinet’s final location. The cabinet provided by the VA will be empty (does not contain a computer) and the installation of any computer systems is outside the scope of this project.
2. The contractor will be responsible for terminating network cables at the wall outlet installed inside the wall cabinet. The contractor is responsible for running network cables from the wall outlet (located in the wall cabinet) back to the IT closet (4C-142) and terminate the data cables on a new patch panel mounted in the existing IT rack.
3. Install one 120V Duplex Emergency receptacle use existing emergency power circuit to terminate connection in each patient room. Install conduit in wall to junction box above ceiling for emergency circuits. Locate emergency outlet will be in bottom of wall mounted cabinet.
4. Install one tele/data outlet in each patient room. Install conduit in-wall up to cable tray above ceiling. Use cable tray to run wiring to IT closet 4C-142. Locate tele/Data outlet will be in bottom of wall mounted cabinet.
5. Remove and replace drywall ceilings in Isolation rooms (4C-107 and 4C-127) to allow rough-in for conduit above ceiling.
6. Confirm power to the new receptacles and verify connectivity from the data ports to the patch panel in OIT room 4C-142.
Additional Notes:
· Flexible Metal Conduit (Hospital Grade) may be used in lieu of EMT for power and data runs. Minimum diameter: ¾”.
· Contractor shall field verify all measurements, material quantities, and site conditions prior to submitting a quote.
· The basket cable tray is in the interstitial space above the fourth floor. The contractor is to run network cable from the wall jacks in the patient rooms to the cable tray in the interstitial and terminate runs in a new patch panel in the IT racks located in room 4C-142.
· The emergency receptable shall be tied to the existing emergency circuit for the receptacles in the headwall units. Circuit numbers are shown on drawing ES-12 for each of the individual rooms.
· New patch panels for terminating the data cable shall be provided by the contractor. Network switches will be provided and installed by the VA.
