About this file

This document is a set of Questions and Answers related to a Regulated Medical Waste Removal solicitation (RFQ 36C24625Q0548) for the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration. The SDVOSB set-aside solicitation involves medical waste collection, transportation, and disposal services, with specific requirements including weekly trailer exchanges, medical waste pickup (including Chemo, non-controlled pharmaceuticals, and Cytotoxic waste), and out-of-state incineration/processing permits.

Key details include mandatory OSHA 30-hr training for employees, acceptance of twice-weekly medical waste pickup, and flexibility in waste trailer management. The solicitation allows for out-of-state processing of medical waste due to limited in-state Virginia facilities. Pricing considerations include separate line items for permits, contractor training, spill clean-up, and transportation costs, with potential contract modifications for quantity increases. Past performance will be evaluated through CPARS ratings or capability statements, with no specified minimum number of projects required for an acceptable rating.
