TECHNICAL QUESTIONS: Fire Alarm System and Inspection

)How many “Hot Boxes” with Tampers are on property as part of the inspection requirements? Review previous questions answered about Tampers.

)Are we required to provide a second proposal to cover the newer Siemens systems, or will this contract be over by the time the Siemens panels are brought online? Need to provide a biddable component for the new system taking over – ADT to Siemens for fire alarm programming. Bid based on active devices.

)Will there a be a barcode requirement? No, tags are fine.

)Will we have all access to duct detectors? Yes 5)Noted there are 2 Roll down fire doors. Spec says zero. Will they be removed or are they still a part of this proposal? The 2 roll down doors that were noted by the vendor during the site visit are not roll down fire doors.

)Will we receive access to the Pharmacy storage where a booster panel is located? Yes 7)Building 10 has a fairly large leak on the sprinkler main under the building. Will we be responsible for this fix? If so, the $2000 max is not enough. Yes, include cost for repair.

)Is there a 2nd hood in the café kitchen? Yes 9)Will we have access to new dental area booster panel? Yes

10) Is there an elevator person for the hospital onsite that can control the elevator so that the devices in the shafts can be inspected or will you get one when needed. Will be arranged at time of inspection.

)Are Barcodes required. The ones on the device currently are from Eagle Fire Protection. (Proprietary) No, tags are fine.

)Where are the surge suppressors located for all device outside of all the buildings. At their respective panel.

)Are there zone maps for all the systems in all buildings. Maps of the facility are available.

)Access hours for all buildings to perform the fire alarm inspections. (testing audio-visual devices, air handler shut down, elevator recall etc.) Answered in previous questions.

)Will we need to be escorted or will we get badges and keys to complete the inspections. Escorted 16)Can you provide a copy of the latest Fire alarm inspection for all buildings. Past report copies will not be given to bidders 17)We need a location and braker number for all fire alarm panels and booster panels. Location of panels will be provide upon award and breaker location is identified on panels.

)Are there breaker locks on all the breakers for the fire alarm system. The ones I looked at did not have any. Breaker locks were not on any breakers looked at during site visit.
