See CONTINUATION Page The purpose of this modification is to extend the due date, update the solicitation description and answer questions.

This amendment also adds references for WD 15-4287 and 15-4303.

RFI 1. Please confirm if the contractor is to provide a technician to change out reusable Sharps containers at their point of use at VAMC Richmond. Yes RFI 2. If technician services are required, please clarify if this service would only be required at the VAMC Richmond campus or at the CBOCs as well? Both RFI 3. If technician services are required, please clarify how many days per week the technician will be on-site at each location. Monday – Wednesday - Friday RFI 4. On page 46 of 70 under Award Basis it states that the government will award a firm fixed priced contract (FFP). At the bottom of page 70 the solicitation states that this is an FFP IDC contract. Please clarify if the awarded contractor will be paid per pound of waste collected and destroyed or a set amount monthly based on the estimated weights outlined in the pricing schedule.

It will be amount monthly based on the estimated weights outlined in the pricing schedule.

RFI 5. Emergency services are they going to part of this contract and if so there needs to be a line item added in pricing for this service. If so, how many on hand 96gl must be onsite for this emergency service? How often does the Richmond VA expect to have these emergency services to happen in each year?

I agree emergency services needs to be added, and this is for when the auto clave (San-I-pak) goes down (Broken). Normal operations 40/96gal red cans are used, this also depends on hospital census. When auto clave go down, (This constitutes an emergency for the hospital) roughly 80-100 96gal cans can be used in two days. We don’t have an estimated number of times so we will say 3 times year, but could be more.

CLIN ADDED to the pricing schedule

RFI 6. Is it necessary for all waste to go for incineration or will the government be willing to segregate autoclave from path/chemo for incineration?

Auto Clave goes to landfill through solid waste. When the auto clave is broken, the regulated medical waste all goes into 96gal red cans to get incinerated.

RFI 7. The SOW calls for 1x per week. Is this what the VA wants as they are currently on for 2x per week for RMW services?

Yes, We will keep 2x per week. SOW updated

RFI 8. The SOW looks to want a sharps tech to service the facilities directly. With the small amount of sharps containers in these facilities do they want a tech out there every week, every other week or 1x per month?

3x a week, (see RFI 3)
