BLOCK 14 Continued
Question 1: On item Four on addendum 5 no information is provided on the capacity, location, power requirements, or size of the temporary cooling needed for the MRI.
Gov’t Response:
VA confirmed through further investigation that the chilled water does not affect the MRI units, so no temporary cooling will be necessary.
The GC to provide temporary spot cooling for the MRI space. The GC to field verify the existing CFM requirements and temperature setpoint. Submittal of proposed plan and equipment to be approved by engineering team and VA.
Question 2: On item 10 on addendum 5 in statement, “Major shutdown shall not exceed 20 working/each. This does not quantify anything. We are unsure if this is hours or days. We would expect days due to the amount of work that is to be completed in a tight area but need clarification.
Gov’t Response:
“Major shutdown shall not exceed 20 working days”.
Question 3: With all of the phasing that is required, we believe that a 18 to 24 month period of performance will be required.
Gov’t Response:
Schedule longer than 365 days is to be reviewed by the VA prior to approval. Variables such as man power, material lead times and time of year may potentially affect overall schedule. The contractor is to provide a schedule to best meet 365 days.
Question 4: We are unsure what you mean on page 3 as listed below.
We take this to mean that you all want all piping fabricated on site instead of offsite. This gets into means and methods of construction that is not typically dictated by the contract documents.
All piping is to be fabricated and ready for installation prior to demolition
Question 5: On item 8 sub item d. sub item iii. We cannot find this in the drawings. Please add this to the drawings.
Gov’t Response:
Refer to note on MH-101 of drawings dated 5/23/2024.
