Questions
VA Answers
A/E Responses
1) The plans are formatted incorrectly and not to scale. Please resubmit the corrected plans
If bid sets are printed to 30x42 and scaled according to A&E labeling the scale should be correct. The sets are different scales labeled at the bottom not one uniform scale.

The CD’s sent to VA were formatted 30x42 landscape (full size). VA is responsible for issuing bid sets.

2) Ref. Spec 01 00 00 - section 1.27 Contractor Badges - Are permanent PIV badges going to be required for all employees that will be working onsite or will a temporary badging system be put in place?
No badges required but every employee must have a negative TB test and a VA safety indoctrination brief prior to working.
3) Can the onsite Superintendent serve all three roles of Superintendent, SSHO, and QC Manager?
Yes
4) Please provide location of dumpster prior to bid date as per Architectural General Note F on sheet G001.
Will be provided in pre-construction meeting.

5) Can a new set of drawings be provided that are not in "portrait" view?

Prints are not in portrait view they show landscape when opened. Possibly a computer setting causing it to open in portrait.
See response 1

6) An asbestos report and lead abatement report is included with the Drawings. Please provide qtys that are to be included in our bid for all items that are to be abated for asbestos and for lead.

Per ACM report, the only positive samples were in areas not to be disturbed by renovation activities. Per LEAD report, GC to perform lead exposure testing per OSHA Lead Standards.

7) Demo General Note B states "In all spaces where demo work is required: remove all flooring, base, acoustical ceiling tiles, ceiling grid, HVAC grilles, casework, plumbing fixtures, corner guards, high impact wall covering, and crash rails, all as noted on demolition drawings" Please confirm that we are to only demo the items that are specifically called out on the Demo plan key notes and that are shown to be demolished on the Demo plan

Yes Both are correct as noted on drawings.

8) Are there any depressed slab areas or mudbeds that will need infilled after demo and prior to installing the new floor? Please provide sf if required.

Only at floor expansion joints

9) Ref. detail 1/A451. There is a note that states "Dialysis box furnished and installed by MARCO under Contract to General Contractor". Please provide contact info for Marco or verify if this will be by the VA since the Dialysis Machines are noted to be NIC per note 21 on sheet A103.

There are no plans showing the new HVAC grills that are required per the Architectural plans. Please provide a mechanical plan showing the full Mechanical scope of work.
