About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details HVAC repairs for IT rooms and closets at the Washington DC VA Medical Center. The project requires installing Variable Air Volume (VAV) and Dual Duct terminal boxes in three specific locations: 1C-112, 3C-119, and 1E-236. The contractor must provide and install one VAV box without reheat in the 1C-112 and 3C-119 IT Closets, connecting them to existing cold deck supply ductwork. In the 1E-236 Suite area, six Dual Duct terminal boxes must be installed, each matching the capacity of existing equipment and equipped with factory-installed Direct Digital Controls (DDC). Additionally, a 350 CFM VAV box must be installed in the 1E-236 IT Closet.
The scope includes integrating all new terminal boxes into the existing building automation system (BAS), with all controls to be completed by Siemens Control BAS. The contractor is responsible for providing necessary equipment, ductwork modifications, controls, and integration, ensuring compatibility with the facility's systems. Requirements include submitting equipment approvals, providing as-built drawings and O&M manuals, and training VA staff. Safety and security protocols must be followed, including proper badging, infection control, and protection of sensitive IT equipment. The project will be coordinated with VA Engineering and IT staff to minimize operational disruptions, with specific points of contact provided: Daniel Pollard (Project Manager) and Lonnell Roberts (Engineering Supervisor).
