STATEMENT OF NEED (SON)

INTRODUCTION:

The Parkinson's Disease Research, Education, and Clinical Centers (PADRECC) of the Corporal Micheal J. Crescenz Veterans Affairs Medical Center (CMCVAMC) require the procurement of a point-of-care ultrasound system (POCUS) to enhance the evaluation and treatment of Veterans with Parkinson’s Disease and related movement disorders. This SOW outlines the requirements, deliverables, and performance standards for the acquisition of the point-of-care ultrasound system.

BACKGROUND:

The Philadelphia PADRECC is committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with Parkinson’s disease and related movement disorders. In support of this mission, the PADRECC requires the acquisition of advanced equipment that will be used to treat Veterans in the PADRECC injection clinic to better identify muscle groups for enhanced accuracy and long-term outcomes post injection.

Ultrasound-guided injections provide a non-invasive, real-time visualization of the muscular and glandular tissues, which is accurate and optimizes treatment efficacy and safety. The point-of-care ultrasound system will be used to provide guided injections to Veterans in need of this type of treatment in the PADRECC injection clinic.

DELIVERY:
