About this file
This amendment provides additional details for a solicitation seeking rideshare services for veterans in western Pennsylvania. The solicitation is a small business set aside being issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 4 on behalf of the Butler VA Medical Center. Ride services are needed to transport veterans within Butler County as well as the surrounding counties of Clarion, Mercer, Lawrence, and Armstrong. Approximately 5% of rides will require wheelchair accessible vehicles. Pricing will be based on mileage rates set by the Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission. While most rides will be scheduled during regular business hours, the contractor must be prepared to accommodate rides outside these hours as needed with proper advance notice. No vehicle types are expressly prohibited as long as all legal and regulatory requirements are met.

We will typically give at least 72 hours’ notice for a requested ride with the expectation of a confirmation that the ride can be accommodated is within 24-hours of request. There may be instances that we request a ride with less notice with the understanding that those rides may not always be accommodated.
