DESCRIPTION
The following are answers to questions regarding solicitation 36C24423Q1090 and performance of work. Any discrepancies in the PWS will be changed on any future award documentation.
The response time is hereby changed from 08/22/2023 at 3:00PM ET to 08/25/2023 at 3:00PM ET.
1. Will the Pathologist do any women's pathology like pap smears, uterine, etc.? yes, PAPS
2. Do you have a Physician Assistant assigned to do the "grossing?" ...or will you expect the Pathologist to do it? PA is assigned. Pathologist will not gross.

7. Para 2.1.2; 2.1.6 & Table; table after para 6.1.1 - Is BLS and ACLS really required? My understanding is a pathologist is not involved with direct patient care (See para 4.5) . Yes - The contracted pathologist would NOT perform the FNAs on patients (usually done by interventional radiologists) but would be expected to be present in the room to evaluate specimen adequacy and provide rapid on-site evaluation, if needed.
8. Para 2.1.9 - Is a DEA really required? ...same reason as Item 1 NO, drug prescription is not a duty on pathology service.
9. Para 4.1.1 - Timecards. I understand paper timecards will be unacceptable. What timekeeping system does the facility utilize? Will the COR provide a copy of the timecard for invoicing purposes? The VA uses VATAS for timekeeping. Yes, the COR will provide a timecard for invoicing purposes.
10. Para 4.5 and 4.5.2 - I understand that the Contractor will not have any direct patient care nor any administrative duties. I do not see anywhere what duties are expected other than supervision of HPTs (para 4.3). Please clarify what duties is expected of the Pathologist.
