About this file
This scope of work document outlines the requirements for a design-build project to upgrade access to Building 5 at the Butler VA Medical Center. The selected contractor will be required to provide all design and construction services to install a new ADA-compliant ramp, replace exterior doors and concrete stairs and sidewalks, and ensure the work can be completed in phases to maintain safe access throughout construction without impacting building operations. The contractor must employ an architectural/engineering firm to complete design work in accordance with VA standards. Submissions are required at 30%, 60%, 95% and 100% completion with a 240-day period of performance. The contractor will be responsible for addressing comments, submitting cost estimates and material selections, obtaining necessary approvals, and providing as-built drawings upon project closeout.
A related federal contract opportunity posting provides additional context for an anticipated solicitation. The project scope, pre-qualification requirements and evaluation criteria for a two-phase design-build selection process are outlined. The contract is set aside for SDVOSBs and will be a firm-fixed-price award between $250,000-$500,000 to be completed within 240 calendar days of the notice to proceed. The solicitation is planned for release on or about September 8, 2022.
