AHU Controls Variable Air Volume (VAV) Boxes/Controls With an SkeleCore FTS system, a VAV can go from 0 to 100%. For all other fabric systems, do not design under 1/4”w.g. (62.21 Pa). With an emphasis on indoor air quality and the continued development of motor controllers, VAV systems are common. Considering the DuctSox system operates on positive pressure, it is important to match the airfl ow and relative pressure curve to ensure adequate infl ation on the low side.
Typically, DuctSox maintains an acceptable infl ated appearance down to 0.25” w.g. (62.21 Pa).
Frequency Drive/Soft Start Controls In order to reduce the popping that may be experienced upon infl ation, a solution may include the use of a frequency drive or soft start motor controller to ramp up the speed of the fans. This will greatly reduce the initial surge of airfl ow that causes most of the stress on a fabric DuctSox System. Adjustable Flow Devices (AFDs) can also be used to reduce the initial surge of airfl ow upon start up. SkeleCore FTS and Pull-Tight eliminates the need for a frequency drive and soft start controls.

Sound Data This report gives the results of tests conducted on 24 inch (610 mm) diameter Diffusion Type Fabric Duct.
The test results include Static Pressure, Air Volume and Sound Power Level.
Test Method The samples were tested in accordance with the ASHRAE 70-2006 Standard “Method of Testing for Rating the Performance of Air Outlets and Inlets”, which incorporates ADC 1062: GRD-84 Test Code for Grilles, Registers and Diffusers. Acoustical data was obtained employing a Bruel & Kjaer Pulse Digital Frequency Analyzer. The reference sound source used for this test was a calibrated Bruel & Kjaer Type 4204, which conforms to the above standard. The octave band sound power levels were plotted on graph of Noise Criteria Curves which is in the ADC Test Code. Each sample was installed in the reverberation room, at the end of a 24 inch (610 mm) diameter duct system, and supplied with measured volumes of air. The static pressure was measured upstream of the sample section.
Description of Test Specimen Each test specimen consisted of a 24 inch (610 mm) diameter, 15 foot (4572 mm) long, section of DuctSox Diffusion Type Fabric Duct supplied with an end cap.

Sound Attenuator The SilencerTM is a Fabric Sound Attenuator that was developed to address one factor for fabric duct—noise from the air handling unit. Textile air dispersion systems can be designed to be quiet, but noise entering the system from air handling units, volume control dampers, or fan-powered boxes can create an uncomfortably noisy environment.
The Silencer can be used in place of a metal silencer or acoustically-lined ducting to absorb or prevent incoming noise from reaching the occupied space.
Many applications leave little, or no, mechanical space to place sound attenuators. The Silencer is installed in the occupied space, offering an aesthetically pleasing appearance that can be customized to match your DuctSox System’s fabric type and color.
Depending on noise absorption required, the Silencer is available with or without an internal bullet and available in diameters 12” to 30”.
Performance
The performance data listed below is for our standard 24” sized Silencer Fabric Sound Attenuator with Bullet.

Critical Environments/LabSox Airfl ow in laboratories and other critical environments are a critical design factor as turbulent air can negatively affect research or even cause hood failure resulting in a compliancy issue. LabSox Products are designed specifi cally to disperse large or small airfl ow volumes without creating signifi cant air movement, noise, or temperature inconsistency that may disrupt fume hood or other airfl ow sensitive equipment (scales, laser, microscope, etc). LabSox are also applicable to industrial or commercial kitchen applications.
To accomplish these airfl ow patterns, the highly permeable Rx series fabric offers air permeability ranges from 2 to 165 CFM/ft2 (10.2 to 838.2 (L/s)/m2). The fi lament/fi lament construction ensures low particle shedding for clean environments. DT200 is also an available option offering a silver color choice in a low maintenance, micro-perforated polyester fabric. DT is a stronger and more durable fabric choice for challenging (high wear) or industrial applications. Open outlets minimize fi ltering and extend periods between maintenance.
To best fi t individual applications, these products are available in the traditional DuctSox shapes of Round, D-Shape, or Quarter-Round. They are available in almost any size to accommodate the airfl ow for each space. Inlet airfl ow velocity, locations, operating pressure, and more will factor into our design recommendations. For best results with critical environments, contact our sales support team.
Modulear D-Fuser options are available in Metal Pan or All-Fabric models
MetalPan: 24”x24” (610 x 610mm) units tested to 500 CFM (236 L/s) /24”x48” (610 x1219mm) units tested up to 1,000 CFM (472 L/s) per unit (standard confi guration)
All-Fabric: 24”x 48” (610 x 1219mm) units tested to 1000 CFM (472 L/s) / 24”x 96” (610 x 2438mm) units tested up to 2,000 CFM (944 L/s) per unit (standard confi guration)
Surround Flow Surround Flow is the most common air dispersion type, as 100% of the airfl ow dispersed by the LabSox passes through the fabric. The radial shape of the fabric face produces a uniform and radially diverging air pattern.
Select Flow Select Flow combines customized vent patterns to include directional airfl ow control.

Critical Environments/DataSox DuctSox has developed the first directionally adjustable air displacement system for the data center industry. The air displacement portion of the DataSox places large volumes of air within the cold aisle with low velocity while the adjustability allows for higher wattage server targeting. Minimal hot air entrainment is achieved, eliminating or reducing the need for physical containment structures, while lowering construction costs and getting better PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) ratings.
Targeted Air Dispersion 100% Customizable - DataSox are designed to fi t the specifi c need of each space allowing for data centers to get the exact airfl ow where it is needed.
Specially Designed Fabric - A unique combination of anti-static and porous materials helps prevent any static charge that could build up while dispersing large volumes of air at low velocities.
Adjustable Nozzles - Provide targeted, consistent velocities along the entire length of the cold aisles to allow for maximum effi ciency of equipment in the aisles.
Temperature Consistency Temperature control is crucial in ensuring that all hardware equipment is working effi ciently at all times. Unlike conventional methods of air delivery that entrain warm air into the supply stream, DataSox uses targeted air dispersion to place the air into the cold aisle. The results are lower temperatures in the air delivery area of 3°F - 5°F.
Consistent Inlet Temperatures - Are achieved along entire aisles putting less burden on hardware and reducing the workload on Computer Room Air Conditioner (CRAC) units.
Air Containment Lower air velocities are crucial in allowing hardware to accurately draw in the necessary airflow without having to overwork the equipment.
Eliminate Physical Containment - By lowering air velocities, DataSox can reduce or eliminate the need for physical containment structures, while lowering construction costs and getting better PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) ratings.
Large Air Volume - DataSox allows for large volumes of cooled air to be introduced into the cold aisles without the presence of higher air velocities that are associated with traditional air dispersion methods.
Lower Air Velocities - Reduces the entrainment of hot air into the cold aisle while also reducing spillage outside of the cold aisle where cold air is not required.
To best fi t individual applications, DataSox are only available in the traditional DuctSox round shape. Available in diameters 14”(355.6mm) to 48”(1219.2mm). Inlet airfl ow velocity, locations, operating pressure, and more will factor into our design recommendations. For best results with critical environments, contact our sales support team.

UnderFloorSox UFSox are a specialty line of DuctSox products designed to distribute and disperse air within the plenum for Underfl oor Air Distribution (UFAD) Systems. To install properly within the pedestals supporting the raised access fl oor, sectional lengths, elbows, and cable supports are all carefully designed to ensure a proper fi t and fl exibility for future changes.
With installation, the UFSox simply rests on the fl oor. To minimize movement of fabric during defl ation or future wiring or other modifi cations within the plenum, retention cables tension the fabric near the endcaps and elbows.
The fabric can be attached to the supply by ducting it straight to the supply, or by connecting it to a sub plenum using a plenum baffl e with taps. The dispersion methods within zones and routing from the supply involve careful consideration for many external factors, such as locations of boxes, plumbing, electrical, and more. For best results, consult our sales support team.
By design, sections of unvented UFSox route airfl ow to zones, where airfl ow is dispersed evenly through linear vents and an operable endcap.

ONICON Insertion Turbine Flow Meters
STREAMLINED SENSOR
HEAD AND SLENDER
STEM allow for hand insertion of the meter while under pressure.
PATENTED TURBINE
ROTATION SENSING
SYSTEM translates turbine rotation into electronic impulses without the need for magnets that impede rotation and attract rust.
PRECISION SHAFT & BEARING SYSTEM incorporates sapphire thrust and axial bearings installed on highly polished tungsten carbide shafts. When coupled with the low mass turbines, this system virtually eliminates shaft and bearing wear even after many years of continuous service.
LOW MASS TURBINES
require very little energy to rotate. This makes them responsive to small changes in flow and significantly enhances their low flow performance.
INTEGRAL HOT-TAP DESIGN
is standard for all insertion flow meters and allows insertion and removal without interrupting flow. Meters are hand-insertable.
No special installation tools are required.
Provide an accurate, cost effective option for flow measurement of relatively clean liquids such as those found in closed loop HVAC systems. Each meter is built to order and individually wet-calibrated.
And yet, the innovative insertion style design makes it affordable to fully instrument the entire plant providing the real-time flow data critical to improving performance and efficiency. In addition, these meters can be installed with no interruption to existing services during installation.
F-1100 Series Single Turbine Meters Suitable for pipe sizes 1 ¼” and larger.
Hot Tap Adapter
Provide all the features of the F-1100 series single turbine meters, plus significantly improved accuracy in limited straight pipe runs. By averaging the speed of rotation of two turbines with opposite helixes, the F-1200 minimizes the effect of swirl, the most common flow distortion caused by pipe bends and elbows. This makes the F-1200 more forgiving when installed in cramped central plant piping systems.
FOUR STANDARD MODELS TO MEET YOUR NEEDS
F-1100 and F-1200 series flow meters are available in four different models, each specifically designed to interface with your building control system. Each is also provided with a dedicated output signal suitable for use with ONICON display modules or BTU meters.
F-1100 / F-1200: FREQUENCY OUTPUT
Frequency output versions of the meter provide a single linear 0-15 VDC square wave signal that is proportional to flow. This high resolution output signal (up to 300 Hz) is specifically designed to interface with ONICON peripheral devices such as BTU meters and displays.
F-1110 / F-1210: ANALOG OUTPUT
These models provide two factory calibrated analog signals for reporting flow rate data; an active 4-20 mA output and a 0-10 VDC output. This meter also has a frequency output.
F-1111 / F-1211: ISOLATED ANALOG OUTPUT
These models provide the same output signals as the F-1110 / F-1210 models, except that the analog signals are electrically isolated from input power and earth. This meter also has a frequency output.
F-1130 / F-1230: SCALED OUTPUT
The F-1130 and F-1230 provide a precision scaled pulse output for totalizing flow. The output is scaled to one pulse per a specific unit volume; i.e. one pulse per 10 gallons, or one pulse per 100 liters, etc.
The output is an electrically isolated solid state dry contact switch. This meter also has a frequency output.
Suitable for pipe sizes 2 ½” and larger.
