The Bath VAMC has an Emergency Repair Natural Gas Pipping across the bridge project # 528A6-25-616.
The purpose of this emergency procurement is to repair the existing 6-inch natural gas main pipeline entering the VAMC campus across the main bridge to Veterans Avenue. This pipeline supplies natural gas to the Bath VAMC boiler house at building B31. Recently, a natural gas odor was detected near the crossing toward Veterans Avenue. An onsite investigation conducted by the engineering team and the Bath VA Fire Department determined that there are minor leaks, described as small "pinhole" leaks, at two locations along the 6-inch pipeline crossing the bridge. While the leaks are considered minor, their location on the bridge raises safety concerns and necessitates prompt remediation. This situation has established the need for a new project to address and repair the pipeline.
Other persons may identify their interest by responding to this requirement by Monday, August 4, 2025, at 12 noon ET. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.
