About this file
This is a Sources Sought notice issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) seeking information from potential vendors for an electrical transformer at the St. Albans VA Medical Center in Queens, NY. The notice (solicitation #36C24225Q0217) has a response deadline of January 3, 2025, at 4:00 PM EST and falls under NAICS code 335311 (Power, Distribution, and Specialty Transformer Manufacturing).
The VA requires one outdoor three-phase radial feed pad-mount transformer with specific technical requirements including: 500 KVA capacity, 4160V primary voltage, 208GrdY/120 secondary voltage, 60Hz frequency, DYN1 vector group, and oil-filled construction. The transformer must fit existing concrete pad dimensions of W=69" x L=76" x D=6" and includes copper lining without surge protection. Installation is required, and vendors must specify production lead time in their responses. The requirement stems from a power failure, with the facility currently using a rented Daelim Belefic transformer. No set-aside has been specified, and this notice is for market research purposes only. The contracting point of contact is Janelle Bonafede at the Network Contracting Office in Cheektowaga, NY.
