About this file
This document is an Amendment (A0002) to an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for replacing surgical lights at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center in Bronx, NY. The solicitation (36C24225B0012) involves a complex medical infrastructure project requiring contractors to provide and install surgical lighting systems, infrastructure, and STERIS VIVOTEK FD9369 cameras. Key requirements include providing infrastructure for operating rooms, installing surgical lights, booms, supports, and junction boxes, and ensuring compliance with NEC, NFPA codes, and VA technical specifications.
The amendment extends the bid due date to March 25, 2025 at 2:00 PM EST, with in-person bid submission only. Notably, the project requires a dedicated supervisor with 7 years of electrical engineering experience and mandates that all new equipment must be STERIS-compatible. Contractors must perform final cleaning, coordinate with VA personnel, conduct a purity test for medical gas, and submit shop drawings stamped by a structural engineer. The project scope involves extensive technical integration, seismic restraint for non-structural components, and strict adherence to VA design guidelines.
