X X X X This Amendment A0001 is for the Replace Surgical Lights project, IFB Solicitation 36C24224B0049 at the James J. Peters DVA Medical Center, Bronx, NY 10468.
The purpose of this amendment is to provide the following information to bidding contractors:
1. Provide RFI and VA/AE responses to all contractor RFI's submitted. (See Continuation Page below)
2. Provide STERIS drawings (attached)
3. Confirm that bid due date will be held on Tuesday, March 18, at 2PM EST. Bid location is in-person. No electronic/emailed bids will be accepted.
4. Confirm that the solicitation number for this project is 36C24225B0012 for the Replace Surgical Lights. Please disregard any information stating "Replace Chiller #2".
Patricia Cordero Contracting Officer Pre-Bid RFI’s and VA/AE Responses:
RFI 1) There are drawings for equipment. Please specify exactly what equipment is the responsibility of the contractor and provide the basis of design and specifications. Also please provide a detailed schedule for these equipment with correct count of each equipment.
VA/AE RESPONSE: See VA provided scope of work and attached STERIS drawings. Quantities to be reviewed by the contractor.
Contractor shall provide and install all infrastructure, and systems required to support the installation of STERIS equipment throughout the operating rooms included within this scope of work. No integration equipment shall be installed under this contract which is HexaVue IP Integration System including: 4K/HD universal ports, surgical Field Monitors, Wall Monitors, touch panels, Speakers, Signature Suite Relaxing Multimedia, Printer. Under this contract the infrastructure (conduits, conductors, junction boxes, supports, and associated devices including ceiling cameras), along with the surgical lights, booms, and supports shall be provided and installed. For all junction boxes that are to be installed under this phase for use with future integrations equipment, the contractor shall provide a faceplate to ensure no exposed parts. Faceplates shall be sized per the associated junction box in which it is to be installed. Due to the sensitive location of the project, Bronx VA requires a dedicated supervisor for the project with 7 years of experience in electrical engineering work. Contractor to field verify OR rooms before the installation of the equipment and provide for VA approval shop drawings stamped by a structural engineer. Our existing equipment are STERIS, so new equipment must be STERIS to be compliant with our system. Purity test must be done by a third-party inspection for medical gas after all work is finished and before return the medical gas to service. All work must be compliant with NEC and NFPA latest codes. All work must be compliant with VA specs and design guides located in the VA TILL (Technical Information Library: https://www.cfm.va.gov/til/).
RFI 2) Please advise what kind of final cleaning work is required from the contractor?
VA/AE RESPONSE: Yes, the contractor must do the final cleaning. See safety/site control requirements in VA provided scope of work. Contractor shall be responsible to ensure VA facility can maintain operations and utilize the associated space at the completion of each area/phase of work as required by Contract Documents and VA COR. Contractor shall coordinate with VA COR to ensure final cleaning requirements are met, the area shall be at minimum returned to the state in which it was prior to the commencement of work.
RFI 3) There is a spec section no. 13 05 41 for Seismic Restraint Requirements for Non-Structural Components. Please identify this work on drawings.
VA/AE RESPONSE: Specifications are to be utilized for requirements for non-structural components, reference specifications. Equipment includes, but is not limited to, supports for associated STERIS equipment. All work shall be coordinated with STERIS to ensure installation of systems per manufacturer requirements.
RFI 4) Drawing A-100 all the keyed equipment notes states "Equipment mount with booms for light fixtures and accessory arm'. ---- Please provide a basis of design/manufacturer name for these Equipment mounts with booms for light fixtures and accessory arm' as this seems it is contractors responsibility to furnish and install.
VA/AE RESPONSE: See VA provided scope of work and supplementary documents provided with Contract Documents for equipment BOD.
