Position the X-ray Insert

1 Center the insert in the wall between the two operatories with the door hinge plates toward the toe of the chair.

2 Check that the x-ray side and the bottom are level, plumb, and square.

Use shims as necessary.

86.0521.00 Rev A 3

Secure the X-ray Insert

CAUTION A pilot hole may be necessary in metal studs to avoid stripping the screw threads or the metal stud.

2 Place shims at screw locations to fill gaps and to help level, plumb, and square the insert.

CAUTION If you do not use shims in the gaps between the insert and sides of the wall opening, damage or bowing of the insert may occur. If the insert is not square, the doors may not open properly.

NOTE The insert is square when the cross dimensions are equal.

1 Install a #10 3" screw with cap in the center hole of the x-ray side to secure the insert to the frame.

4 86.0521.00 Rev A

3 Verify that the insert is still centered between rooms.

4 Secure the insert to the frame with two 3" screws with caps.

86.0521.00 Rev A 5

Remove the Shipping Panel

1 Remove the five screws securing the shipping panel to the insert.

2 Remove and discard the shipping panel.

6 86.0521.00 Rev A

Install the Remaining Screws

3x

5x

1 Install five 3" screws with caps through the insert and shims, and into the frame.

2 Close the cover caps on all of the screws.

86.0521.00 Rev A 7

Attach the Hinged Panels

2 Beginning with the top hinge and working to the bottom one, snap each hinge into place.

TIP Lift up on the bottom of the door to distribute the weight evenly. This makes it easier to snap the hinges together.

1 Fully open all of the hinges.

3 Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the hinged panel on the other side.

8 86.0521.00 Rev A

Install the Door Cable (used on wooden doors with attenuation material only)

Install the Glide Panel

Actual Size

1 Uncoil the cable on the end panel but leave it in the eyelet.

2 Secure the ends of the cable to the doors.

1 Install the bottom glide first, then install the top glide.

86.0521.00 Rev A 9

Connect the Panels

1 To connect the two panels, slide the three tabs into the hinge plates.

2 Use a Phillips head screwdriver to install two screws in the middle holes of the hinges.

TIP Ensure all hinge tabs are seated in the slot in the hinge plates before you snap the first one in. If necessary, pry up the tab on the hinge with a standard screwdriver to detach the two pieces.

For Metal Panels

For Wood Panels

3 Complete installing and connecting the glide panel on the other side.

10 86.0521.00 Rev A

Install the Setscrews

1 Open the doors so you can access the setscrew locations.

2 Use a hex key to install the four setscrews that prevent the glides from coming off the rails. The heads of the screws should be flush with the top of the rails.

Setscrew Locations

3 Open and close each door several times to evenly spread the lubricant in the rails.

86.0521.00 Rev A 11

Adjust the Door Hinges

CAUTION To avoid damaging the screws, use a #2 Pozidriv Phillips head screwdriver to adjust and properly align the doors.

Side to Side Adjust

1 Use the handle in the middle of the cabinet to open and close the doors to ensure they have been adjusted properly. The doors should open easily and smoothly, without any drag or chatter. To remove drag, you may have to adjust one hinge more than the others.

Framing/Wall Mounting (cont.)

595 X-Ray Storage Insert The x-ray unit manufacturer requires additional jamb framing, and the routing of electrical for the x-ray is dependent on the x-ray manufacturer requirements. Consult with the x-ray manufacturer and your local building contractor for assistance.
