UPGRADE DENTAL PUMP MANHATTAN VA 36C24222Q0478:
#1 QUESTION/STATEMENT:
The space where the dental pumps are located is not big enough to install the new while the old is still in use. Therefore, the old system will need to be removed before the new can be rigged into place and start the install process. So, the Dental clinic will need to be shut down for at least 2 days. The clinic stated when we completed a walk through that they will not be able to shut down during the work week. That is why it needs to be completed over a weekend. With that the cost of week end work raises the price. My concern is I will bid the weekend work and everyone else will bid normal work hours. I will be higher on my price and will lose the work because of it. And the company that wins with a lower price will than say it cannot be completed during the week and raise their price after the award.
ANSWER: The Dental clinic can not be shutdown, it must maintain operation. A temporary setup can be installed while installing new equipment. After hours or weekend will not have the oversight or supervision. All work shall be done during normal working hours, temporary setup pump can be done and currently have adequate space to install temporary pump while removal and install of new equipment.
#2 QUESTION/CONCERN
My other concern is the waste of all the water if the 2nd recycle tank is not required. I know the VA is always trying to conserve water, energy oil, gas etc. Without the recycle tank the VA will waste close to a million gallons of water a year.
ANSWER: Concern noted. Provide and replace current system and implement upgrade equipment. New 120 gallon receiver tank should be included to be replace as per vacuum pump upgrade system.
