CONTINUATION PAGE
Question: Will the VA air monitor have the ability to perform Sunday after hours quick turn around sampling?
This would be needed to get clearances quickly to breakdown for Monday morning each time.
Response: The Abatement Contractor (AC) must provide the VPIH at least 4 hours to collect, process, and be provided results (of) air and surface sampling. If the clearance samples are not within acceptable limits, the Contractor would be responsible for the work to and costs for the VPIH to conduct additional sampling and testing. This will require the air monitoring and abatement service providers to coordinate an appropriate work schedule needed to meet the requirement.
The VA wouldn’t advise the AC to only provide the VPIH one chance/last four hours (Monday morning) for the VPIH to take their clearance samples. The AC should take the scenario into account & provide the VPIH adequate time. The AC’s Abatement Plan would be reviewed by the VA and VPIH during the submittal phase for compliance & feasibility.
