(START OF PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT)
STATEMENT OF WORK
Whole Health Virtual Wellness Services VA New England Healthcare System (VISN 1)
A. GENERAL INFORMATION:
1. Title of Project: Whole Health Virtual Wellness Services
2. Scope of Work: This is a contract to procure a virtual wellness platform for live/interactive and on-demand services including yoga, Tai Chi, meditation, Guided Imagery, and other modalities described in this Statement of Work (SOW) to the VA New England Healthcare System (VISN 1), serving approximately 300,000 Veterans and their caregivers, and approximately 17,000 employees. The current model of providing these services is dependent upon local staffing and resources and is therefore unsustainable due to challenges in recruiting and retaining appropriately qualified staff to provide such services. This contracted option will address gaps in the current care delivery model. Three (3) VISN 1 facilities currently have contracts that are either in option years or are ready for renewal. A single contract that will provide services for all eight VISN 1 facilities will increase access to services for all VISN 1 Veterans. For VISN 1 employees, these virtual wellness services would be accessible off-tour and will support improved engagement, resulting in a probable increase in retention rates, productivity, and positive impact on Veteran outcomes. These virtual wellness services will promote resilience and well-being for VISN 1 Veterans, caregivers, and employees. This contract will be effective for one (1) year from the date of award with the option to renew it for four (4) years.
3. Background: Provision of complementary and integrative health (CIH) services within VHA is authorized and required under VHA Directive 1137. The contract for virtual wellness services will ensure continuity of care, compliance with VHA Directive 1137, and a sustainable approach to CIH services for the future. These wellness services are considered a virtual offering. The virtual care offerings comprise virtual live, interactive videos within a digital platform that offers access to a variety of wellness services, including yoga, Tai Chi, meditation, and Guided Imagery. These services offer support and personal interaction while allowing participants to access offerings on a schedule that is convenient for them. They are offered daily at a variety of times and require no transportation. These wellness services will address multiple gaps in the current care delivery model. VISN 1 is committed to the transformation of healthcare delivery to both Veterans and caregivers, as well as to the well-being of employees.
