About this file

This is Amendment 003 to a federal solicitation for document shredding services at the VA Boston Healthcare System. The amendment extends the submission deadline to June 11, 2026 at 1:00 PM EDT and provides responses to three contractor questions regarding the scope of work.

The solicitation (36C24126Q0447) is for document shredding services on a base plus four options contract structure. This is not a new requirement; the previous contract (36C24122P0093) had a total value of $241,079.20. According to the clarifications provided, the contractor is responsible for shredding operations at the loading dock of the main hospital for materials collected by VA staff from grey consoles throughout the facility, and must also travel to outer buildings to shred blue shred bins in place at those locations. All shredding must occur onsite. The solicitation is being administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Boston Healthcare System Contracting Office, located at 940 Belmont Street, Brockton, MA 02301, with Jeffrey S. Fleming serving as the Contracting Officer.

1. We are performing independent research on the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation (36C24126Q0447). We would like to know if this is a brand-new contract OR if there is (was) an incumbent performing these services. If not brand new, could you please provide the current / previous contract number and what the total contract value was?

Previous contract: 36C24122P0093 $241,079.20.

2. Just confirm, does all of the shredding need to happen onsite?

Yes

PWS:

· 1. Description of services

· 2. (d) (E) General Requirements

· 3. Quality Control

· 10. Security Requirements:

3. I had a question, do our drivers go around and service every console in the buildings or does the VA staff do that and we just shred the totes at the loading dock?

The contractor would be responsible for shredding at the loading dock of the main hospital. VA staff empties the grey consols. For our outer buildings on the PWS the contractor is responsible for communing to each building to shred the Blue Shred bins in each building.
