** AMENDMENT A00001 – Medical Gas Equipment – West Haven

– Contractor Questions and Government Responses ** Please confirm receipt of this amendment in your solicitation response

Question 1.

Will the facility be responsible for the medical air backfeed/portable vacuum units while each system is down? Or is the vendor required to supply air backfeed/portable vacuum units while each system is down?

Answer 1.

The medical air backfeed will be the responsibility of the contractor while the system is down and during the certification process. The VA will be responsible for the portable vacuum units while the system is down.

Question 2.

The scope of work mentions the relocation of the medical air intake and vacuum exhaust. What is the reasoning for this? Is this relocation regarding the roof locations for each to meet the minimum distance from doors, windows, and other intakes/exhausts?

Answer 2.

This work has already been completed as the part of another contract and was added to the PWS in error. (see attached updated PWS)

Question 3.

The new system packages may not fit on existing concrete housekeeping pads. Is the vendor responsible for modifying the existing pads to accommodate, if required?

Answer 3.

No
