CONTINUATION PAGE

A.2 QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1) Question: The Solicitation Pricing Pages request only a total price per month for each of the campuses, Newington and West Haven. Can the Contracting Office please expand the pricing schedule to allow unit pricing per service, adding a CLIN for each building location that requires equipment and service? Detailed unit pricing is in the best interest of the Government because it will allow the Contracting Office to better control costs, should service requirements change during the 5-year term of the contract.

Answer: Pricing schedule has been revised.

2) Question: Page 8 of the Solicitation identifies the container at Building 36 to be a compactor. Since there is such a significant difference in price between compactor equipment and regular waste containers, can the Contracting Office please confirm that a compactor is needed, and that there is adequate space for installation of a compactor at Building #36?

Answer: No, a Compactor is not needed. The 4 cubic yards containers that we currently have are adequate for the area.

3) Question: Can the Contracting Office please identify the size of container(s) needed at Building 36 in terms of cubic yards?

Answer: They are 4 Cubic Yards

4) Question: Page 7 of the Solicitation identifies the size of the Metal and Wood Dumpsters as being 6 cubic yards, each. This is a fairly small size for collection of this type of material, and we typically see 30 cubic yard sizes for collection of wood and metal due to the mixed sizes of the scrap material. Can the Contracting Office please confirm the size of the Metal and Wood Dumpsters?

Answer: The metal and wood containers are actually 30 cubic yards.

5) Question: Page 8, item 6 identifies all containers as compactors. Is this intended?

Answer: No, the ones for bldg. 36 should state Containers. The “for item 6 title” should state compactor and containers.

6) Question: On Page 8 of the Solicitation, Building #1 shows that a 2 time per week pickup schedule is requested. Can the Contracting Office please confirm that this is an adequate service frequency that will not result in overflow situations?

Answer: Yes, as long as compactors are working to expectations 2 times a week is adequate.
