About this file
This is a concept paper template for the Department of Veterans Affairs VA Innovation Ecosystem (VHAIE) Broad Agency Announcement focused on suicide prevention. The template guides respondents in preparing submissions for BAA Number 36C10X24R0053, which seeks innovations in suicide prevention, care coordination, and treatment to increase Veteran access to services while reducing costs and improving service quality.
The template consists of two parts: a transmittal letter (not counted against page limits) capturing proposal details including BAA topic areas (improving services for non-VA-affiliated Veterans, strengthening post-crisis care supports, or enhancing crisis response and lethal means safety), phase duration, ROM costs for prototype/test and field test/pilot phases, solution maturity level, and company information including business size classifications; and an executive summary limited to 3 pages with 12-point font addressing eight key questions about the proposed solution including current problem state, innovation approach, stakeholder impact, technical plan with success metrics, risk mitigation, current solution progress, and team qualifications. Concept paper submissions are accepted from July 15, 2024 through various end dates ranging from August 2025 to September 2026, with submissions required to be sent to VHASuicidePreventionBAA@va.gov.
