About this file
This Special Notice is a modification to a previous notice regarding a sole source intent by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Strategic Acquisition Center to award firm fixed-price contracts to two companies: Knowtex Inc. and Abridge AI, Inc. These companies were winners of the "AI Tech Sprint for Documenting VA Clinical Encounters and Integrating Community Care Data" challenge, authorized under the America COMPETES Act and Executive Order 14110.
The contracts will implement pilot programs to test and evaluate commercial, cloud-based ambient scribe tools utilizing artificial intelligence and Software as a Service technologies. The solution will transcribe clinical encounters, generate notes, and integrate with the VA Electronic Health Record, allowing providers to initiate encounter recording without manual patient information entry and automatically insert draft notes. The procurement is being pursued as a sole source under 41 USC §3204(a)(1), with a NAICS code of 541715. Interested parties may submit responses to William.Milline@va.gov or Cristine.Carmody@va.gov by July 8, 2025, to be considered. The response date is 07-08-2025 at 12:00 pm Eastern Time, with contracts expected to be awarded within 60 days of the notice.
