About this file
This is an RFI (Request for Information) tracker document for the Department of Veterans Affairs' Cheshire County, NH OPC project (RLP No. 36C10F24R0006), containing 17 questions and answers regarding technical requirements and specifications.
The Q&A clarifies several key points: septic and well water systems are acceptable if they meet requirements; CAD files will not be provided for the conceptual floor plan; proposal submissions must follow RLP Section 3.02 specifications; and signed PPQs can be included in submissions. The document confirms that several medical services are not required for this facility, including pharmacy, surgical suite, sterile processing, endoscopy, and dental treatment services. Technical clarifications include that a backup generator is required as a shell requirement, IT standards must be followed, no piped medical gases are needed, and separate Demarc and TR rooms are recommended (with Demarc as shell cost and TR rooms as tenant improvement costs).

9 LDN 4.6.1
The LDN indicates the facility will not have any Category 1 or Category 2 spaces as defined by NFPA 99, therefore a Standby Generator would not be required by that code. A Standby Generator is, however, listed as a requirement for the facility in the LDN, section 4.6.1. Should the Type 2 EES, which will support Life Safety and Equipment Branches and will include a generator, automatic transfer switches and distribution equipment, be included in the Building Shell or the Tenant Improvement?
A back-up generator is required for those emergency requirements listed in the LDN 4.6.1.3. This is a shell requirement.

Surgical and Endovascular Services are referenced in the LDN, sections 4.3.10, 4.4.13.5, 4.5.4.5, and 4.6.2.1, but none are shown on the ABOA Diagram Drawings. Is a Surgical Suite required, and if so, would it be considered a Category 1 space as defined by NFPA 99?
