1. What is the total sq footage of the area that needs to be cleaned?

Response: An estimated net 25,311 square footage

2. What is the breakdown of the sq footage from surfaces to carpet?

Response: As listed in the Performance Work Statement (PWS), Appendix A, Deliverables: approximately 4,300 sq. ft. hard surface; and approximately 19,089 sq. ft. carpet

3. What is the current contracted amount for janitorial services?

Response: Annual Rate $44,663.46

4. Is there a janitorial closet to store items and supplies on site?

Response: Yes, there is a small janitorial closet which includes a mop sink (see photo below.) Some supplies, including cleaning carts, may be stored in the maintenance room area, and there is an additional shelving unit available as well.

5. Who is the incumbent?

Response: Absolute Janitorial Services

6. What is the annual value of the existing contract?

Response: See Question 3 above.

7. How can a site visit be arranged?

Response: A Site Visit was announced in the Solicitation, Section E, Para. E6.

8. What is the building size (ft. sq.)?

Response: See Question 1 above

9. Will the VA provide consumables (toilet paper, soap, etc.)?

Response: No, these items are provided by the Contractor per the PWS, Para. 1 and Para. 1.2.5.

10. Can relevant prior Past Performance Questionnaires be submitted to avoid repeatedly burdening our busy references?

Response: Please follow Solicitation Procedures Section E, Page 50, Paragraph 5.1.4 Part IV Past Performance.

11. Will consumables (paper towels, toilet paper, soap, trash liners) be able to be charged back to the government separately as they are delivered to the building or does that cost need to be included in the contract price?

Response: No, consumables are charged to the Contractor (see #9 above). If the Contractor prefers not to have them delivered to the building, that is their option/decision. Currently, only select items are shipped directly to the VARO; most supplies are brought in by the Contractor.

12. If consumables are to be included in the contract price can we please get usage amounts so we can estimate the cost correctly?

Response: Usage will vary based on occupancy load. On average, the Boise Regional Office serves 90 – 150 employees and customers daily, Monday thru Friday.

13. Page 13 discusses Background Requirements as NACI. Is the cost for that background check for our employees who will be assigned to this contract $408 per person? Would we be responsible for paying this cost or will the VA be conducting these background checks and paying for them?

Response: These requirements are outlined in the PWS, Para 5.1 in the first paragraph under “Contractor Responsibilities.”

14. Page 30 of the RFQ discusses training needed to access the VA. How long does this training take to complete and is there a cost associated with it? If so, who is responsible for the cost of the VA required training?

Response: Training will be provided by the Government at no cost to the Contractor and will take approximately one hour.
