About this file

This is a Schedule of Line Requirements and Q&A document for medical imaging equipment procurement across multiple VA medical facilities. The document details equipment requirements and site-specific information for various imaging systems including NM SPECT CT, NM PET CT, XR RF (X-ray fluoroscopy), XR CATH LAB (catheterization lab), RT LINAC (radiation therapy linear accelerator), XR CT (computed tomography), and XR RAD (general radiography) systems.

The document covers 22 separate equipment installations across 15 VA facilities in VISNs 2, 6, 8, 9, 16, 20, 21, and 22. Each installation includes specific technical requirements, site visit information, and Q&A responses regarding construction needs, facility modifications, and equipment specifications. Key details include power requirements, HVAC specifications, flooring requirements, lighting upgrades, and millwork modifications needed for each installation. Site visits are scheduled between December 10-20, 2024. The document provides extensive technical clarifications on equipment specifications like detector sizes, weights, and capabilities to ensure fair competition among vendors while meeting VA clinical requirements.

VISN 2: VA Healthcare Network Upstate New York561 EAST ORANGE, NJ561B42017Compliance Matrix # 92 - Does the end user intend to do CT calcium scoring with this system? Compliance Matrix # 54 - Please confirm the end user does NOT want below ground cables. Compliance Matrix #92 - Please confirm which cardiac software the end user wants, 4DM or Cedars or both (current system has both)#92 Yes #54 No, cables should be above ground as system may be moved in future #92 No, software requirement laid out in this line item. End user currently uses 4DM which would be preferred and access to Cedars could be added value
VISN 2: VA Healthcare Network Upstate New York561 EAST ORANGE, NJ561B42017Line 23 – please change this to 50cm as that is the standard CT FOV on most scanners.

Line 33 – what is meant by “low energy”? Is this different than the LEHR already included on line 29?

Line 39 – Let’s use this item for the “CZT” question. Let’s ask if this refers to CZT detectors and of they are required.#23 Technical specification updated #33 The low energy ultra high resolution collimater will be removed to avoid confusion. This could be added value #39 CZT cyrstal is not a requirement but could be added value
VISN 16: South Central VA Health Care Network564 FAYETTEVILLE, AR564B40021Benchmark mislabeled please correct NM SPECT confirmed per requirement overview Line 13Confirmed that this is a SPECT only requirement.
VISN 16: South Central VA Health Care Network564 FAYETTEVILLE, AR564B400211a. Maximum detector crystal dimensions [in] - Please clarify if 3/8 or 5/8 is preferred.

1k. Please clarify what is meant for a full system UPS, are you looking for a UPS that backs up the camera comparable to what you have today? If you’re looking for a different UPS solution than you have today, please provide specifics on what is needed?

2j. & 2k. Will you retain the MEGP and PH collimators from the NM630 being traded in if they can be re-used on the vendors system vs. buying new?

6i. Please clarify what is meant by “nonuniform attenuation” when referring to a SPECT only system?

Q: Do you have any plans to upgrade to diagnostic SPECT CT in the future?1.Please confirm what the new flooring requirement is based on the VA TIL (LVT, Sheet Vinyl, VCT?).
2.The VA said they recently conducted a structural evaluation of the slab that they could provide. We need this evaluation as well as confirmation on slab thickness.1a. 5/8 in. is preferred for maximum detector crystal dimensions.

1k. We are looking for a UPS that backs up the camera comparable to what we currently have.

2j. & 2k. We would be agreeable to using the old collimators provided that the old collimators would match the “life span” of the new camera system being installed - for purposes of service contract coverage, the old collimators would not have a shorter life span than the new camera system as a whole.

6i. Non-uniform attenuation in SPECT refers to the uneven absorption of radiation across different tissue densities within a patient's body, meaning that different parts of the body attenuate the signal from the radiotracer differently.

Q: We would like to have that option as a possibility. 1. The new flooring requirement based on the VA TIL is WSF (Chapter 252, FA2: Patient Area, Rm Cde NMGS1).

2. The existing slab is a 4-inch topping slab cast over a 5-inch wire-reinforced concrete slab on ground. A cable trough runs through the topping slab next to the existing scanner. If a new configuration of support feet on the gantry is used, the feet must maintain a minimum of 2-inches from the edge of the trough. The floor slab was found to be sufficient for equal to or greater than existing system size and weight.

VISN 16: South Central VA Health Care Network564 FAYETTEVILLE, AR564B40022Per site walk thru, please specify what new flooring requirement based on the VA TIL is requestedThe new flooring requirement based on the VA TIL is WSF (Chapter 252, FA2: Patient Area, Rm Cde NMGS1).
