About this file
The document is a bid specification and request for proposals from the Jackson County Utility Authority (JCUA) in Pascagoula, Mississippi, for the purchase of a Grit Classifier System for the 2C-Gautier Potw (Publicly Owned Treatment Works). The solicitation involves a reverse auction procurement process, with un-priced bid proposals due by 10:00 AM on July 22, 2025, and the electronic reverse auction scheduled for August 5, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Bidders are required to submit a bid form, technical literature, and product specifications for a grit classifier system designed to remove grit from domestic wastewater, separate and dewater grit to a high total solids content, and discharge it to a dumpster.
The bid specifications outline detailed technical requirements for the grit classifier, including specific material specifications (primarily 304 or 316 stainless steel), motor characteristics (TEFC, 460V, 3-phase, 1 horsepower minimum), and comprehensive submittal requirements. The Authority intends to award the bid to the lowest and best bidder, considering factors such as price, delivery time, equipment specifications, and other relevant criteria. Delivery of the equipment is expected within 120 days after award, and the system must meet specific operational conditions, including processing 220 gallons per minute with a 95% grit recovery rate and ensuring grit contains no more than 25 percent moisture and 10 percent total organic matter for landfill disposal.
