About this file

This file is a Questions and Answers document related to a Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Disposition Services surplus vehicle sale solicitation (31-6005). The document does not provide specific details about the questions asked or answers provided, as only the filename and reference information are visible in the provided content.

The underlying solicitation concerns a one-time sale of four used vehicles located at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, offered on an "all or none" basis. The vehicles include two Maxus Pick-Up Trucks, one Nissan Pathfinder, and one Toyota Prado (diesel), with odometer readings ranging from 19,435 to 73,829 kilometers. All vehicles are operable but require jump starts and have various cosmetic issues including paint defects, dents, rust, and interior wear. Bidders must submit sealed bids on the SF114 form with a total bid amount for all four vehicles. Full payment is required prior to vehicle removal, which must be completed within 21 calendar days after customs clearance. Prospective bidders and their agents must obtain base access through the host installation at Camp Lemonnier and are solely responsible for determining and complying with installation access requirements. The SPOC (Single Point of Contact) will provide contact information for base access coordination but will not facilitate communications between the purchaser and the host installation.

Could you please inform me if

- the vehicles were imported duty free or duty paid in Djibouti?

- in case they are duty free, are the djibouti customs aware they are going to be sold ?

- in case they are duty free, do you know how Djibouti customs will calculate the taxes that must be paid to allow these vehicles to be registered?

are they going to take into consideration the sale value or another base value to calculate the taxes.
