About this file
This Request for Proposal (RFP) is issued by the Brookhaven School District in Mississippi for a weapons detection system. The district is seeking to purchase approximately six (6) OPENGATE weapons detection systems with LTE Board, including batteries and chargers, to be installed at various district locations. The RFP was released on May 28, 2025, with proposals due on June 16, 2025 at 10:00 AM CST, followed by a reverse auction at 2:00 PM CST the same day. The desired project completion date is July 25, 2025, and the contract pricing will remain valid for twelve months from contract signing.
The evaluation will be based on a 100-point scoring system, with 50 points for price, 20 points for proposal quality and references, 20 points for timely delivery, and 10 points for being an authorized dealer in Mississippi. While OPENGATE is the district's preferred system, vendors are invited to propose alternative solutions that meet the detailed specifications, which include requirements such as being a fully open walk-through detection system, capturing various weapon types, having a low nuisance alarm rate, being battery-powered, portable, weatherproof, and lightweight. The contract award is contingent upon Brookhaven School District Board of Trustees approval and available funding, with the district reserving the right to reject any or all proposals.
