About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for the Building 52 Refresh federal contract opportunity issued by the Coast Guard.
The project involves interior renovation work including laminate flooring installation, painting, furniture moving, and base removal/reinstallation. Regarding flooring, the Coast Guard requires laminate flooring meeting or exceeding specifications listed in the Statement of Work (SOW), with no vendor mandates; award will be made to the responsible contractor offering the lowest priced, technically acceptable offer. The existing wood cove base must be removed and reinstalled; new cove base is not required. The contractor is responsible for moving furniture as needed. Ceiling heights and ceiling type information (acoustical tile, gypsum board, or combination) are provided in the referenced Floorplan 2 drawing. The painting scope excludes wood doors, door frames, and window frames/trim but includes concrete windowsills in offices and conference rooms; Rooms 20, 34, and 135 are excluded from painting work. The water heater closet in the bathroom is not part of the painting scope. Subfloor repair is not included in the contract requirements; any differing site conditions beyond the estimated 450 square feet will be addressed per FAR clause 52.236-2. A Notice to Proceed will be issued once all submittals are accepted by the government. No bid bond is required.
