This is a technical specifications document for Air and Light Apparatus trucks being procured by Hillsborough County, Florida through a sole source procurement from Ten-8 Fire & Safety, LLC. The specification details a single apparatus unit based on a 2026 Freightliner M2 106 Plus crew cab chassis equipped with a Cummins Diesel B6.7 engine, Allison 2200 EVS automatic transmission, and comprehensive safety and operational systems. The vehicle includes an aluminum rescue body with multiple compartments (L1, L2, L3, R1, R2, R3, and B1) configured for equipment storage, featuring roll-up aluminum doors, slide-out trays with 1,000-pound weight capacity, and interior LINE-X coating. The apparatus incorporates extensive emergency lighting systems including a 60-inch Whelen LED cab light bar, body-mounted warning lights, scene lighting, and a Command Light tower with six light heads. A cascading air system with 18 CFM Bauer compressor, six 6,000 PSI storage bottles, and fill station provides rapid SCBA tank refilling capability. The vehicle is also equipped with a 40-kilowatt PTO-driven generator system with cord reels, 120-volt shoreline charging, backup camera, air horn system, and comprehensive compartment lighting activated by magnetic door switches.

The estimated procurement cost is $1,878,888.00 for a one-time purchase of these Air and Light Trucks. The procurement is being conducted as a sole source award under Section 3-205(2)(a) of Hillsborough County's Procurement Policy, as Ten-8 Fire & Safety, LLC is identified as the only original equipment manufacturer authorized to provide this apparatus with its required proprietary components and specifications. The County is utilizing an available cooperative contract (AM2XSB10) administered by the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) to facilitate this procurement. The notice of intent to award is not a competitive solicitation; however, contractors able to provide identified proprietary parts and services may submit challenges to the intended award by the specified close date. The County reserves the right to extend the time period, adjust the scope of services, and increase the award amount accordingly based on changing conditions and updated requirements.
