About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) outlines the Institute for Telecommunication Sciences' (ITS) requirements for acquiring four solid machined antennas for propagation measurements and model validation. The antennas must operate in the 10GHz to 18GHz frequency range, with specific technical specifications including vertical linear polarization, ability to tolerate above 50W continuous input power, minimum 8-degree horizontal and vertical beamwidths, and VSWR less than 2:1. A representative example meeting these requirements is the RW62HORN25A from RF Lambda.

The procurement includes four antennas, four mounting options, and four radomes, with a preference for representative horizontal and vertical antenna pattern data and calibration information. The delivery is requested by November 31, 2025, or within 15 weeks after receipt of order (ARO), with a firm fixed-price contract type. The primary technical point of contact is Adam Hicks, reachable at 720-552-7271. The antennas are intended to expand ITS's current measurement system, enabling more precise RF signal transmission and reception for environmental propagation research.

Statement of Work/Specifications

NTIA0000-25-00XXX – 10GHz to 18GHz Tx Antennas

BACKGROUND:

Propagation measurements and modelling is a core function of the Institute for Telecommunication

Sciences (ITS). To perform these types of measurements, we typically transmit and receive a known RF signal along the propagation path (RF in the environment) via calibrated antennas. After performance of these measurements, we use the results to either create a new model or make corrections to a current model. To improve the overall quality of this process, ITS needs carefully manufactured and calibrated antennas to better inform their measurement systems.

ITS seeks to expand their current measurement system to frequencies between 10 GHz and 18 GHz. For this purpose, ITS requires new antennas with boresight or broad beam widths that can operate at higher continuous power levels with proper mounting and weather protection to maintain stable and characterized effects at frequencies of interest while the system is in operation.

OBJECTIVE:

The purpose of this procurement is to acquire solid machined antennas that can be modeled and deployed as part of the transmitter system to perform propagation measurements and validation of models in a variety of environments at frequencies between 10 GHz and 18 GHz.

We require:

4x Antennas

4x Mounting Options

4x Radomes

Representative Antenna (Horizontal and Vertical) Pattern Data across frequency range
