About this file

This is a technical specifications attachment for a chlorine bulk storage tank testing and inspection request for quotation issued by the City of Fort Worth Water Department in Texas. The contract covers periodic testing and inspection services for nine liquid chlorine bulk storage tanks located across three water treatment facilities: Eagle Mountain Water Treatment Plant (two tanks), Rolling Hills Water Treatment Plant (two tanks), and Village Creek Water Treatment Plant (five tanks). The tanks vary in age and specifications, with four older tanks manufactured by Ace Buehler between 1983 and 1986 and five newer tanks manufactured by Tank & Vessel Builders installed in 2020. Tank capacities range from 5,000 to 5,300 gallons, with designed working pressures of 225 psi for the older tanks and 275 psi for the newer tanks. The older tanks were last tested between 2014 and October 2014, while the newly installed 2020 tanks have not yet been tested. All tanks are constructed to ASME standards, with the older tanks built to ASME Section 8, Division 1 specifications and the newer tanks constructed to ASME U W RT-1 HT standards.

The specification document provides detailed technical parameters for bidders, including shell and head thickness requirements, tank serial numbers, and manufacturer information necessary for contractors to understand the scope of work and develop accurate pricing. The City of Fort Worth is seeking bids on an "as needed" basis for this testing and inspection agreement, indicating a potential ongoing or flexible contract arrangement rather than a one-time engagement. No pricing terms, contract duration, award dates, or response deadlines are specified within this attachment, as it serves solely as a technical reference document detailing the assets requiring inspection and their current condition.
