About this file

This is a Statement of Work issued by the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles for RFQ 2026-35170450 regarding the furnishing and installation of a weapons screening partition at the Bellflower Courthouse. The project involves replacing an existing tinted, curved partition with a new partition wall designed to improve visibility for security screening staff. The new partition must meet specific design requirements including a minimum height of 6 feet, brushed aluminum framing with minimized vertical supports, and acrylic plexiglass panels of at least 3/8-inch thickness that are etch-resistant or protected with replaceable film. The scope of work includes removal and haul-away of the existing partition, floor repairs as needed, delivery to the loading dock, installation during after-hours coordination with court facilities, final site cleanup, and a 12-month warranty on all work performed. The vendor must provide shop drawings or cut sheets demonstrating how the proposed solution achieves the visibility and design objectives, with final dimensions subject to verification and approval by court facilities prior to manufacturing. Installation must be coordinated to allow at least three weeks of advance notice before work begins.

All bidders and their subcontractors must be registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations at the time of bid submission and maintain active registration throughout the project duration, as this is classified as a public works project subject to prevailing wage requirements and certified payroll reporting under California Labor Code Sections 1720 et seq. Pricing must be all-inclusive with the exception of applicable taxes, and quotes must reflect new products only with no used or refurbished items accepted. The bid contact is Unique Grace, and prices are good for 90 days. The Court reserves the right to award the entire bid to a single vendor and is not bound to consider partial bids. Vendors may respond to all or some line items but must input all requested information into bid documents to avoid non-responsive determinations.

Los Angeles Superior Court

Statement of Work

Weapons Screening Partition

Bellflower Courthouse

RFQ 2026-35170450

Objective:

• The Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, requires a vendor to furnish and install a partition wall in the weapons screening area at the entrance of the Bellflower Courthouse. The existing partition is tinted, curved and interrupts the sight lines of the security screening staff making it difficult for them to maintain visibility of the public entering the building. The ideal solution will include the height of the partition being raised to at least 6’, would not be tinted, and vertical separation between acrylic plexiglass would be minimized to maximize the visibility through the partition wall. The partition wall will need to be anchored into the slab beneath it with a minimum number of anchoring points while ensuring stability and structural integrity. Removal and haul away of the existing partition wall will also need to be included as part of the installation process. Repairs to existing visible flooring may be required following the removal of the existing partition.

• The overall goal is increasing visibility for the weapons screening staff through the partition wall, specific design details will be up to the bidders to provide shop drawings and/ or cut sheets of their proposed solution to achieve the goal.

Design Characteristics and Guidelines:

• A minimum of 6’ in height

• Maintaining a minimal width of the partition wall to maintain the available space in the queuing area and lobby

• Minimizing anchoring points while still ensuring structural integrity and stability

• Minimizing vertical framing of plexiglass

• Mirroring the footprint of the current partition wall- does not require corner pieces being curved

• Finish of framing should be a brushed aluminum

• Plexiglass should be a minimum of 3/8” thickness and be etch resistant or have a protective film that can easily be replaced to protect the plexiglass from vandalism.

o If a protective film is used, it cannot obscure visibility through the plexiglass.

• Plexiglass pieces should be fitted to the framing to ensure that it can be replaced if needed

• Dimensions are included below of the existing weapons screening partition. The proposed solutions should match the existing partitions footprint as closely as possible while accomplishing the following:

o Final dimensions should ensure adequate clearance for ADA accessibility at entry doors o Final dimensions will be agreed on with court facilities prior to manufacturing.

Current Weapons Screening Partition:

*Dimensions must be verified by contractor prior to manufacturing

Installation:

• Services will include installation afterhours to be coordinated ahead of time with LASC Facilities

• All finish materials shall be new, free from defects affecting safety, appearance, and durability.

• Selected vendor must provide an installation schedule to be agreed on prior to manufacturing to ensure adequate coverage for installation from court facilities staff

• Once installation schedule is agreed upon, vendor must have at least three weeks before the first installations begin

• Vendor shall be responsible for supplying all supervision, labor, materials, equipment, tools, insurance, licenses, transportation, all other aspects of material handling to provide the required furniture.

• Vendor shall deliver new product to the loading dock or receiving area and provide labor to move into agreed upon locations within the building o Access to bring materials into the building may be limited to main entry doors o If use of elevators is possible and preferred, floor covering must be included to protect flooring on the path of travel from the delivery location to the installation area.

• Vendor must also include the demolition and haul away of the existing partition wall during the installation of the new partition wall.

• Repairs to existing visible flooring may be required following the removal of the existing partition- repairs may include patching holes with epoxy and trying to return the finish of the floor to as close as possible to the surrounding areas.

• The Court shall inspect new furniture upon delivery and installation.

• Final clean-up of the job-site will be required before leaving the premises.

• Court dumpsters are not to be used to eliminate trash, scrap, or debris.

• Contractor agrees to remove all tools, equipment, or staging equipment when job is completed.

• Final acceptance will be given by Court Facilities

• Work performed by vendor shall be warranted for a period of 12 months.
