About this file
This document outlines an emergency slide repair project on Interstate 84 in Oregon at Mile Post 359.1 Eastbound. The project is managed by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) and will be advertised early next week with bids due around April 17th. The scope of work includes approximately 96,000 cubic yards of general excavation and 21,000 cubic yards of stone embankment buttress. The project has a hard completion date of September 15, 2023 due to emergency funding requirements. Disposal sites have been identified, and ODOT will allow access without entering I-84. Contractors are instructed not to use contraflow in the closed lane.
The document addresses several common contractor questions, including the buttress design, existing roadway condition, slide movement rate, and availability of a material source. ODOT confirms the project is subject to prevailing wages and provides guidance on finding the project advertisement on the Oregon Buys procurement website. The project is located in Union County, Oregon.
