About this file

This is a subscription order document for ALEKS Placement, Preparation and Learning (PPL) software between McGraw Hill LLC and the Board of Trustees of Community College District No. 508, commonly known as City Colleges of Chicago, located in Cook County, Illinois. The order is effective July 1, 2026, and covers computer-adaptive math placement and learning services designed to support accurate course placement for new credit students across the institution's seven colleges. The service includes an online initial placement assessment, up to four reassessments within one year, and a 12-month prep and learning module for each student. McGraw Hill will provide scoring and electronic reporting of assessment results, data transfer consultation, on-campus and web-based training, a customized online portal, implementation consultation, and ongoing customer support. The contract is estimated to serve approximately 75,000 annual student users and will remain in effect through June 30, 2027, with options for up to five additional one-year renewal periods. Either party may terminate without penalty upon 90 days' prior written notice.

Pricing is established at $15.00 per student for each student who accesses the initial placement assessment ("ALEKS PPL Unit") per cohort, with an annual cap not to exceed $1,125,000.00 for the contract term unless mutually amended in writing. Invoicing occurs on an arrears basis with payments due October 1 for usage from April 1 through September 30 and April 1 for usage from October 1 through March 31, with payment required within 30 days of invoice. All pricing excludes applicable sales, use, or similar taxes and duties, which are the responsibility of the subscriber. McGraw Hill will invoice based on actual usage, and the pricing cap limits the institution's financial exposure while allowing flexibility based on actual student participation rates.
