The District seeks qualified contractors to provide as-needed repairs, renovations, minor construction projects, and specialty trade services including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, flooring, painting, and roofing for District facilities across 17 campuses serving approximately 15,000 students. The RFP was released on April 13, 2026, with a final question deadline of May 5, 2026 at 4:00 PM and a proposal submission deadline of May 12, 2026 at 2:00 PM via the Euna Bonfire bidding platform. The tentative Board meeting for award consideration is scheduled for May 21, 2026. The contract term is three years beginning June 1, 2026 through May 31, 2029, with up to two optional one-year renewal periods. The District intends to award multiple contracts to establish an Approved Contractor List, with the maximum aggregated contract amount of $5,000,000.

Pricing will be based on RS Means unit pricing with contractor-proposed coefficients representing a percentage increase or decrease to the San Antonio CCI Adjusted Unit Price Book. Minimum qualifications require three years of experience providing repairs and minor construction services to educational institutions or municipalities and work with at least one comparable K-12 school district. Preferred qualifications include five years of experience and work with three or more comparable K-12 districts. Evaluation criteria include cost proposal (30 points), experience and qualifications (25 points), employed personnel (25 points), and references (20 points). Contractors must maintain workers' compensation, general liability ($1,000,000 per occurrence), automobile liability, and umbrella coverage of $1,000,000; provide criminal background checks for all personnel; and comply with all federal, state, and local safety regulations, OSHA standards, and District policies including FERPA, PPRA, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
