Summary of RFQ NO. LC101-2026: Military Barracks Development at NAS Meridian
This is a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) issued by the Lauderdale County Board of Supervisors for the development of military barracks at Naval Air Station (NAS) Meridian, Mississippi. The RFQ seeks qualified responses from contractors capable of undertaking a significant military housing construction project. Sealed responses are due by 1:00 p.m. CST on Friday, August 21, 2026. The project involves the design and construction of barracks facilities to accommodate military personnel stationed at NAS Meridian. Prospective bidders should submit qualifications demonstrating relevant experience in military construction, project management capabilities, and financial stability. The RFQ process will evaluate respondents based on their qualifications, with selection of the most qualified firm(s) to proceed to subsequent project phases.
The RFQ is structured to identify contractors with demonstrated experience in military construction and comparable barracks development projects. Bidders are expected to provide detailed information regarding their organizational structure, key personnel, past performance on similar military projects, financial references, and technical approach to the proposed barracks development. As a public procurement through Lauderdale County, the project is subject to Mississippi procurement regulations and applicable prevailing wage requirements for public construction projects. Funding for this initiative derives from military construction appropriations or federal defense budgets allocated for NAS Meridian facility improvements. The selection process will culminate in the award of a contract to the most qualified respondent(s) to proceed with design and construction services for the military barracks facility.
