About this file
This Addendum 1 to IFB 27-630-60 clarifies specifications and requirements for the Overlook Park Painting & Repairs project issued by the Burlington Parks & Recreation Department in Burlington, Massachusetts. The addendum addresses fourteen specific questions regarding project scope, including fascia and garage door painting (to match building color), entry door painting (accent color to be chosen by the Town), composite board seam placement for large windows (to be determined by Town and contractor collaboration), brush removal for access (Town responsible), disposal of metal window grates and plywood (contractor responsible), window treatment on the theater building (metal grate removal and wood grill painting to match building), final grading completion (to be finished by site contractor before painting begins), and weather-related schedule extensions (Town will work with contractor on adjustments). The addendum permits work to commence immediately upon contract award rather than the stated November 2 start date, allows Saturday work on November 7, permits extended daylight hours, and authorizes work schedule modifications in response to weather concerns with potential spring completion without penalty.
The addendum corrects the Bid Form to require only a 50% payment bond if the total bid price exceeds $25,000, rather than the 100% performance and payment bonds originally stated. All bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum in their bid submissions. Contractors must execute the contract within five days of award, furnish employees with documentation of ten-hour OSHA construction safety training, and comply with all applicable Massachusetts laws and regulations. The undersigned must certify bid bona fides, absence of collusion or fraud, and non-debarment status under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 529, Section 29F.

• The Town will work with the contractor on the schedule if there are weather concerns
Section 4.1 sets the work period at approximately November 2–10, which is 7 working days. We'd like to request approval to work Saturday, November 7, and extended daylight hours, as allowed under the Work Schedule ("unless otherwise approved"). Could work also begin sooner if the contract is awarded before November 2?
• Working on a Saturday is permitted by the Town of Burlington and the Town will work with the contractor on a final work schedule. Work can begin as soon as the contract is awarded and all documents have been received by the Town of Burlington Procurement office.
