About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for Solicitation 12639526Q0053, a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for janitorial services at the USDA Science and Technology Laboratory in Coral Gables, Florida. The document addresses contractor inquiries regarding scope, facility specifications, service requirements, and submission procedures for this first-time contract award.
The janitorial scope encompasses three single-story buildings totaling 14,150 square feet: Building 63 (7,500 sq ft), Building 1 (5,000 sq ft), and Building 62 (1,650 sq ft). Services are required three times weekly on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM during business hours. Specific tasks include regular trash collection from 48 wastebaskets (varying sizes), vacuuming carpeted areas weekly, shampooing carpets annually, and stripping and waxing tile floors once yearly. The facility contains 6 total restrooms, 2 breakrooms, 5 laboratory areas, and no restricted access areas. Contractors must provide all cleaning equipment, consumable supplies (including toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap), and cleaning solutions appropriate for the flooring types present. The government has observed that 1-2 technicians can efficiently perform the work, though no staffing requirement is mandated. No Independent Government Cost Estimate (IGCE) has been established, and award will be based on lowest price technically acceptable (LPTA) criteria. Quotations must be submitted on company letterhead to Margaux.G.Nenichka@usda.gov, with the point of contact for oversight being COR Glenn.hall@usda.gov. This is a total small business set-aside with a $22.0 million size standard threshold.
