About this file

This is Addendum No. 1 to a construction project issued by the State of Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Construction & Facilities Office. The project, numbered 26B1524013, involves replacing boilers in three buildings (406Q, 426Q, and 638Q) at the Reserve Forces Service Center located at 3423 N. Martin Luther King Blvd., Lansing, Michigan. The addendum, issued April 24, 2024, provides clarifications and revisions to the original specifications prior to bid opening scheduled for May 1, 2024, at 2:00 PM EST. Key project requirements include installing emergency stops in buildings 406Q and 426Q (Kele ESM-M1S-PKO-BS model), disconnecting and removing existing temporary domestic boilers with complete breeching removal and roof patching at building 426Q, and managing electrical connections across all three buildings.

The addendum addresses six critical questions and answers regarding boiler specifications and contractor responsibilities. LES vertical firetube boilers of equal size with domestic sidearm may be substituted for the specified Aldrich boilers at building 638Q. The contractor is responsible for all connections to owner-furnished boilers at building 638Q, with warranty coverage limited to one year for connection work. The contractor must include lead and asbestos surveys in their bid for all three buildings, as no prior survey documentation exists. The existing boilers remain the property of the owner. All bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum on the bid summary sheet.
