HCPS serves 242 school sites with approximately 200,000 to 225,000 students and currently utilizes the School City testing platform by Renaissance. The district manages 3,154 total tests, including 1,471 secure tests, along with 2,104 school-created and 2,296 teacher-created assessments administered both online and via paper. The desired platform must support technology-based item types, provide accommodations such as text-to-speech, enable test exportation to PDF and Word formats, align with Florida B.E.S.T. standards, and integrate seamlessly with the district's existing FOCUS Student Information System. The RFI was released on Monday, January 12, 2026, with a deadline for questions on January 19, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., and responses due by January 26, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. All submissions must be made through VendorLink. This RFI is informational only and will not result in a direct contract award; responses will inform future Request for Proposal (RFP) development.

The district has allocated approximately $1 million annually for assessment platform management within its $3 billion total operating budget. HCPS is particularly interested in responses from vendors with existing contracts supporting large Florida school districts, demonstrated capacity to serve organizations exceeding 200,000 students, and proven experience extracting and transferring large volumes of test items from legacy platforms with robust quality control processes. Respondents are encouraged to provide information on cost-effective software solutions, implementation risks and mitigation strategies, innovative approaches used by similarly sized districts, implementation timelines, and other context relevant to achieving the district's assessment platform goals, including data visualization capabilities, comprehensive training and customer service support, real-time data extraction capabilities, robust reporting and analytics, and secure test administration features.
