About this file
The document is a Sole Source Certification from the School District of Manatee County's Purchasing Department, dated April 21, 2025, seeking to procure the rental/lease of LECOM Park for the 2025 high school graduation ceremonies. The procurement targets Pittsburgh Associates of Florida as the sole vendor and covers the venue rental for an event accommodating approximately 7,500 guests between May 13-19, 2025. The venue selection is justified as the only facility in Manatee County capable of meeting the event's unique requirements, including specific amenities such as lighting, video board, tables, chairs, audio-visual equipment, internet, parking, and security services. The procurement follows Florida School Board Administrative rules 6A-1.012 and will undergo a mandatory 15-business day public posting process in accordance with Florida Statute 287.057(3).
The sole source certification does not specify a precise contract value or budget range for the venue rental. The procurement appears to be an unrestricted opportunity without specific set-aside designations or enterprise restrictions. The document emphasizes the unique capabilities of LECOM Park in hosting the graduation ceremony, suggesting no alternative vendors could meet the district's specific requirements. The scope of service is narrowly defined, limited to a specific time frame and venue. While financial details are not explicitly stated, the complexity of required amenities and the event's scale indicate a potentially significant contract value. The procurement process is being conducted transparently through a public posting, allowing for potential review and validation of the sole source justification.
